Hey all
I am going on a cruise this year, and as i want actual cover i am declaring that i had tonsil cancer.
However when filling it in i am getting questions about 'has the cancer spread to another part of the body'
It went to the local lymph node, so i selected 'yes' but then i get questions about metastatic cancer and no chance to explain i have been clear for nearly 5 years
I am just not sure if local lymph nodes count as 'metastatic cancer'? would you be selecting yes to 'has it spread to other parts of the body' or not?
Separately, can someone suggest somewhere that will insure me?
Cheers.
Hi Trev glad youre sorted. I always rang when I was taking out insurance in the 5 years period and every time when explained local lymph nodes I was told that’s not a metastatic spread which I agreed with as my diagnosis was T2N2 Nm l I always preferred speaking to clear that part up then if I had to claim it was their on my policy the exact diagnosis. Have a fab cruise.

Hey hazel
Yup, insurewith actually have an option that reads 'yes, but only to local lymph nodes' - i was so relieved as 1k insurance just for myself would have been painful.
As for the cruise, thanks- its my first time abroad in 5 years! its the Fjords (norway), then off to iceland and then on to greenland for the northern lights - cant wait :)

Wow that sounds brilliant. Daughter and I went on a husky safari to Sweden one February. We each had our own team for five days which was topped off by a night at an ice hotel. We watched the northern light blaze and crackle for hours. It was so cold we did the coffee trick. We had only about six hours of dusk each day and the day before we left was the day the sun appeared at last over the horizon. It was a day of celebration . I hope you have a wonderful time and get to see the Aurora which is much more spectacular than we see in Britain xx

Thanks Dani, that sounds an amazing experience, and the ice hotel sounds great! Only booked it yesterday (and immediately went for the insurance) so not planned the excursions yet, but we do have several days in prime spots at the right time so fingers crossed :)
