Hi all
It's so good to have this forum to share ones experinece.
I was dianosed with cancer of the larynx in 2021 and had a disection and the Cencer returned this year . I have had 30 sessions/ 6wks of radiation which was completed a month ago in Sydney. I was on Morphine and Fentanyl for pain (which can with usual constipation) and a Steriod. Swallowing (even ones spit) was excruiating and still tough. I think the Steriod gave me lots of energy but I would often crash in the afternoons. My neck burn got pretty brutal towards the end of treatment.
Post treatment has been challenging. Weaning off the steriod was horrid, with vomiting, chronic fatigue and insomnia (might be a combo of weaning of the pain meds too). I am still struggling with swallowing and sometimes swallowing into the lungs. My throat is still painful and swallowing food is not easy,
When does it consistenty start to feel easier?

I would aim for around 12 weeks which is when most of us turn a corner
I was still on morphine at 12 weeks before starting a taper.
My cancer wasn’t laryngeal but I got 6 weeks of RT to the same area.
