Hello,
My partner had his 3 month post RT PET scan in January and was given the all clear which was brilliant news. I may have already mentioned this in a previous post but can't find it. Anyway, he had to have a biopsy on his hip 3 weeks ago as they found 2 hotspots on his hip and rib in the first PET scan last year and again the same spots in his PET scan in January. We were told that it was unlikely to be related to his head and neck cancer as that was very rare to go to the bones. They were thinking it was more likely from his previous prostate cancer which he'd had in 2013 and was all clear from that and all psa checks were negative. Anyway, he had his results from his biopsy yesterday and we were unfortunately told that it was infact metastatic bone cancer from the head and neck cancer. Not curable but manageable. They are going to start him off on 5 doses of RT and rescan again in April. He's being brilliantly positive and upbeat about it all. I think he's just so relieved that he doesn't have to endure 6 weeks of RT on his mouth! He also quite rightly says, many people live for years with secondary cancer so not point wallowing and to get on with living. Has anyone else got a secondary from head and neck cancer?
Hi. Yes I remember your earlier post a couple of months ago. So sorry that it’s metastatic HNC. Has immunotherapy been suggested? We have a few forum members on IT for distant mets.

A DEXA scan.
Cisplatin can reduce calcium levels therefore impacting bone health.
I had SI pain that I couldn’t get on top of. Bone mets are exceedingly rare and Other half’s partners is very unlucky. Nevertheless it’s worth checking out.
I paid for a private MRI. I’m just old.
