Hi everyone,
Ending my 11th week post treatment.
So now I'm off all strong pain meds apart from paracetamol. I can feel the stiffness from aches and pains all over the body from lack of fitness and stress I should imagine.
How do we get the fitness back and when to start without over doing it. I still need plenty of sleep at the moment ,get tired so easily.
Also not eating too well yet and on fresubin still ,so don't want to push myself, but I've never felt so unfit ,feel as though 30 years has been added on to me !! It's another thing I'm stressing over I know ,but just need reassurance that fitness and well being comes back .
Hi Spider.I felt exactly the same as you with my fitness level reaching an all time low. I started by walking very short distances and I mean really short. I built up the distance I could walk over time but it did take quite a while and I would need frequent rests. As my energy started to return I joined an over 50's exercise group and then started to build on that. The good news is that now I am getting on well and managing to lap swim weekly and have regained my fitness level. Hurray. You will too but you just can't rush it which is really frustrating but you do get there.
