Hi everyone,

Ending my 11th week post treatment.

So now I'm off all strong pain meds apart from paracetamol. I can feel the stiffness from  aches and pains all over the body from lack of fitness and stress I should imagine.

How do we get the fitness back and when to start without over doing it. I still need plenty of sleep at the moment ,get tired so easily.

Also not eating too well yet and on fresubin still ,so don't want to push myself, but I've never felt so unfit ,feel as though 30 years has been added on to me !! It's another thing I'm stressing over I know ,but just need reassurance that fitness and well being comes back .

  • Sorry Mark
    Deleted the post in error...
Walking. swimming, playing golf and gardening all helped my fitness....3.5 stone weight loss was an unexpected 'benefit' of CRT
I lost the weight due to Ensure 2cal intolerance...could not keep it down....or eat solids....ended up in hospital....
My weight is now a healthy 11st 7lb
  • Yes the nutrition supplement is very rich ,my dietician has told me to do overnight feeds so it doesn't cause me nausea in day ,and also it will build my appetite back up !! Still waiting for that !

  • Just had Hot Butter Chicken Curry for dinner....a few months ago that was unthinkable....your appetite will return...just takes a little time

  • My favourite food!

  • Hi Spider.I felt exactly the same as you with my fitness level reaching an all time low. I started by walking very short distances and I mean really short. I built up the distance I could walk over time but it did take quite a while and I would need frequent rests.  As my energy started to return I joined an over 50's exercise group and then started to build on that. The good news is that now I am getting on well and managing to lap swim weekly and have regained my fitness level. Hurray. You will too but you just can't rush it which is really frustrating but you do get there.
