Hi everyone,
Sorry to bring this up but , I've been caught out with not having enough Laxido while still on opioids. I thought I was ok so cut down on the Laxido. But then I had a terrible time on Monday trying to pass a stool, so I did 4 packs of Laxido ,then next stool i had runny poop so ,lowered the dose again thinking it was all out ,but no,I had another very painful motion. I'm not sure how much impacted poop I've got and I'm so fed up now as I ache down there and think I may of overstretched my bum and scared to go again, what should I do as far as dosage ? I'm going to start coming off the strong meds as I don't think I need as much now .Sorry to bring this topic up but it's really getting me down
Thanks if you do reply
Mark
I might be tempted to let your GP have a feel of your abdomen. You can take six laxido at a time but I’m not sure for how long.

Hi Mark
Poo impact is worrying.
At one point I was taking 3 Laxido and a Dulcolax tablet
Eventually eased as I came of pain meds...
Could go for 3-4 days without a movement...then it turbocharged...
Still have some days when I don't do anything...prunes and kiwi fruit usually help... along with a Laxido.

Please do a phased withdrawal off opiates as well. Keep taking the laxido as well until you’re off the opiates and eating food regularly. Like Dani says get gp to check your tummy. I know you can take 6 laxidos at one go but think that’s the limit. I know a few who have had impacted poo and they all say the same never again.
best wishes

Hi Hazel ,
I've phased off meds over the last week and only on paracetamol now, my oncologist said I was on the lowest dose anyway ,so I thought it wouldn't be too bad
Think I'm paying the price of stopping all meds , I'm in bed pretty poorly now with acute diarrhoea, and scared what I've done ,trying to keep fluids up. Is this a withdrawal symptom Any suggestions please Hazel x
Is this a withdrawal symptom
Flu like symptoms, such as muscle aches, sweating and chills. digestive problems, such as feeling sick (nausea), being sick (vomiting) and diarrhoea.
if that’s what you feel like then take some morphine. How much were you on before you stopped?
