Hi everyone,

This past few days I've been suffering with real bad fatigue. I was going ok then suddenly bam ,I'm so tired like I was when having treatment. Is this the norm am I still suffering from the radiation ? I have started lowering my pain meds as these cause tiredness. No concentration whatsoever, don't even want to do my jigsaws as I'm too tired. I'm on my ninth week post treatment?

Thanks Mark

  • Is this the norm

    Yes

It’s called radiation fatigue. It can poleaxe you out of the blue. Rest is the only cure. Rest and a little gentle exercise once you are out of the “crisis”

  • Hi Mark what you're experiencing is radiation fatigue. It hit me around the same time. I learnt to listen to my body and became the queen of the 20 min Power Nap. Gentle exercise helped a walk in the fresh air. But I still had a nap when needed it enabled me to continue the rest of the day. You can’t fight it.  I also lost concentration o couldn’t read and I read a book a week most weeks. I couldn’t t concentrate on tv we watched trashy box sets for a while. Keep your hydration up and nutrition as that virtual. If yiure still in pain keep on top,of pain killers and remember if opiates do a phased withdrawal. it does get better  from memory took me a good few months.
