Hi everyone

Saw the dentist before my radio /chemo starts on March 10th. Dentist said my one double molar at back is at risk but only a 7% risk of osteonecrosis if left in which is very painful and very difficult to treat as you guys are aware.

What shall i do? ...7% risk or  shall i play it totally safe and have it out. ?  I'm torn what to do

Thanks all

I had 3 molars out ...no discussion... just told by oncology to attend dental hospital....7% is a very low risk....a judgement call only you can make ....

  • ORN is a risk with extractions. If it was my tooth and was healthy I would leave it where it was.

  • My dental consultant was wavering on a couple of mine.   I asked her what she would do if it were her teeth.  She said she’d keep them.  So I did.  7% seems a very low risk to me….but we all have different risk thresholds.
