Hi I’m a year on from tongue surgery and neck disection and RT on neck. I’ve started to get a weird taste on the side of the tongue I had surgery. Has anyone else had this? I think I might have had it after surgery but it did go away.

Yes I have burning tongue on the treatment side with altered taste there too. It’s what I expected. It comes and goes I’ve just got used to it.

Hi you’re not on your own i periodically still get burning tonight. I have certain triggers which give it me I kept food diary and for me it’s strong mature cheese ( I love cheese) fermented foods. Pickles etc. I can go months then it starts again I’ve learnt to live with it. Oh the joys. Remember we are all different I had no surgery just chemo radiotherapy.
