Hi all

I finished my last treatment for stage 3 tongue, tonsil, throat & lymph node March 23 & all has been progressing well. I had a camera about a month ago & all looks fine. But for the last week I have had a bit of a sore throat (opposite side to my cancer) & hurts a bit if drinking tea. I am sure its nothing, as you are all aware you tend to be a bit sensitive to these things after treatment but should I just see how/if it progresses or should I speak to a responsible adult?

It is really nothing major but having tried it once (it wasn't all that much fun) I want to avoid again if possible

Thanks all

It puts your mind at rest or gets things moving straightaway

Ive just walked out of Maxfac 8 months after my final review. I found an ulcer on my tongue that wouldn’t go away, sent my CNS a picture, the consultant told me straightaway that it was due to trauma but that he would see me to check why.
We do get stuff that’s not cancer.
Get it looked at. They won’t mind seeing you early.

  • Hi Chemo Chaos

If you are worried then contact your specialist straight away. No need to wait. As Beesuit said we do get stuff that is not cancer , however you may need a very straight forward treatment and this would put your mind at rest knowing that you are looked after.

    Best wishes.

  • Hi CC

Our mouths and throats took a lot of punishment, 17 months after Chemoradio and I still get niggles, they soon go away after treating with Difflam/saline solution, regular reviews with oncology and dental hospital look for the start any sinister signs .....but if you are concerned you should certainly ask medics to investigate....
