ok, had my oncology meeting today.. all good.. but I was chewing gum after eating my dinner, and I guess that the crunching sound and grey/silvery debris was a filling.. is this something that I should be concerned about and get sorted with my dentist ASAP, or do I just wait it out until my next upcoming checkup? cheers.

Phone or email your CNS for advice, maybe an urgent referral to local dental hospital could be arranged?

  • I wasn't sure whether my local dentist could see to it.. but will ring my CNS first thing.. ta.

  • Just get your dentist to sort it.
Only invasive treatment needs doing at the hospital. If it was me I’d get it done asap rather than waiting for an appointment at restorative

  •  You should  be able to get an emergency appointment

Your dentist will soon tell you if they can’t do it

NHS advice is...If you require any urgent dental treatment, you may be advised to see your dentist and dental hygienist......

    Macmillan advice

    • If you notice a change in your mouth or teeth, see your dentist straight away.
  • Hi Beau Chapeau

I would not wait. Can you try to get an urgent appointment with your dentist? You don't want to risk to have an infection.

    Take care.

Let the forum know how you get on, will be great to know the procedure for any future dental issues.

  • I left a message with my dentist earlier, but they didn't get back, so a call first thing is on the cards.. any issues and I'll be onto my CNS.. and yes, I'll let you know how it goes..
