Hello Again Everybody,
I hope that everyone is well and doing as best as they can be with Spring in the air.
I have just posted on the 'Lung' and the 'Incurable' forums and, of course, I was thinking of you all over here and thought to give you all a wee you an update.
I have placed Quotes around "Progress" as it seem too positive a word for my situation. I think that I mentioned before that I turned down the opportunity of chemotherapy (GemCarbo) and that ny treatment I receive will only be for palliative care.
Just over a week ago I sent an email message to my new Lung Oncologist, GP and my Macmillan Lung Cancer Nurse; with a copy to my previous NCS on the Head & Neck Team, complaining about the big difference between my previous care and this time. I kept leaving messages and sending emails for which I never received any replies. The big diffeence being that I did receive replies to this time. I just felt that I was being ignored and asked if it was because yje cancer is 'incurable' and I am a hopeless case - with hindsight, I did apologies to some extent but I received a good response from the team.
My pain is under some control with MST (30mg + 5mg being added to the evening dose soon), Paracetamol and Lidocaine Patches. Although I am now feeling quite a bit of pain at he back of my ribcage and wondering if it is elated tom the vcancer or juist a normal backache - not qjuie sedentary but not getting much exercise due to breathlessness ad fatigue.
Take Care,
Bob
