Just a quick update. 3 down not too bad an experience the mask squashing my nose is the most uncomfortable part. Using creams mouth wash toothpaste. No side effects as yet in fact and bizarrely my croaky voice has improved. Treatment appointments are first thing 07:30 tomorrow so miss traffic going in. Thanks all for your kind comments.
Hi Paul
I was dreading 6 weeks of Radiotherapy but I was surprised at how quickly the weeks passed, I focused on past and future holidays to pass the time (had booked a short break to be taken some weeks after finishing treatment)...put myself away in a space of my own....usually fell asleep.

That’s normal. Radiotherapy works fast. It’s already reducing the size of the cancer. Your voice will improve until inflammatory effects of the RT take precedence. You should be ok with just a four weeks. Sore but ok

Thanks I’m hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Following on from Hazel and Dani, somethings happen so quickly while others are a slow change. The pain in my ear I’d been suffering with (an early symptom) and was on co-codamol for went on the first day of treatment - (first cisplatin and radiotherapy). And about the end of week 3, I could no longer eat. Wishing you well on your journey.
