Hi all.
One year post treatment , next check up is in about three weeks time however I’ve started to get pain in my neck on the side where I had cancer in lymph’s . I’m not in the least concerned re cancer as I know it’s muscle related and I’m simply wondering if there are any exercises etc that might help ease this ? Rubbing area seems to help.
I had the usual treatment 30RT and 5 chemo for tonsil cancer and lymph’s in neck.
cheers and TIA for solving my problem
Sounds like fibrosis setting in. Corner your oncologist at next review or contact your CNS for a physio referral. The sooner you get onto it the easier it is to deal with and prevent it from getting worse

I wrote a blog about my cancer. just click on the link below
Thanks Dani , had half a notion it might be that.
I am 16 months post treatment and the pain in my neck tends to come and go. For some reason it has been quite bad the last couple of days. I tend to use hemp oil to massage my neck and my shoulders. I also put a warm hottie. Just read Dani's reply and I had never thought of asking to see a physiotherapist. Definitely the route I will try.
I hope your pain eases very soon.

Fab1, I’m same , was thinking maybe it’s the cold weather ??
I’ve had a pain in my neck too. Didn’t realise it was a thing and hadn’t clocked it might be related. The sort of pain where it’s a struggle to hold your head up. I had to take paracetamol. I saw a physio but through my work not through the hospital. I’ve had 10 sessions. It’s really helped. I still have a twinge some days but mostly fine. The physio has also given me exercises to do at home.
You are right it could be the cold weather. Will definitely try physio . ️

I'm 7 months post bilateral neck dissection and I've really noticed the cold weather affecting mine! Goes solid. So that won't be helping for sure. I wear a scarf everywhere now and sometimes indoors too when it's bad!!
