Hi everyone
happy New Year to you all.
I have neck lymphodaema after chemo-radiotherapy to throat/tongue. Had cellulitis twice but now it feels like the lymphodaema has pushed my Adam’s apple further down my neck and struggling with swallowing.
anybody experienced this? Seems very odd.
Hi DaddyBear
I had lymphodema but it was minor enough to manage myself with massage.
Please ask your team to refer you to a specialist clinic. All hospitals either have them in site or have access to them.

Thank you Dani. I have a lymphodema nurse who I saw in September. I was supposed to have a follow-up at beginning of December but it was postponed as they had staffing issues. Now booked for 30 January. I’ll try ringing them tomorrow.
i think it may just be that lymphodaema grown today which just makes it feel like it’s pushing at my Adam’s apple.
thank you for your reply. It is much appreciated.

Hope you get somewhere soon, meanwhile a gentle massage, like a stroke, towards a healthy part of your neck won't go amiss. I used to do fifty strokes every time I went to the loo.

Hi there DaddyBear
can totally identify with what your Lymphadeama feels like. I have had lympho on chin area and neck since jaw surgery and neck dissection over eighteen months ago. I can only get appointments every six months at my hospitals lympho. Clinic, I practice MLD, as shown by the nurse, every day for fifteen minutes, has improved slightly but I feel just a case of preventing from going worse in my case. I am in the routine of massaging every early evening whilst watching the news along with all the other exercising stuff! Hope you get an earlier appointment just to put your mind at rest if nothing else, feels pretty scary sometimes with the tightness and pressure.
Happy New Year
