......Months

I visited with the Macmillan Specialist Lung Cancer Nurse at Ninewells Hospital this morning where we were informed that this current cancer is not related to my previous (H&N) throat cancer. It is categorised as Non-small cell lung cancer - Squamous cell carcinoma.

As previusly mentioned on this forum, the oncologists are awaiting results for a PD-L protein test to see if immunotherapy is a relevant treatment for me.

However, when I asked the question about life expectancy, the SN informed me that it would more likely fall into the months category.

I will hang around these forums for a while yet but I would just like to Thank You All for your help, encouragenent and support over the past couple of years or so. It is very much appreciated.

  • Oh Bob. If I was there with you I’d give you a huge hug. I am lost for many words. Your posts have helped loads of people too, you know. We’ve had a few chats here, you and me, and it’s been an honour and privilege to have shared some of this community with you.
There are some good results with immunotherapy for nsclc so I’m crossing everything I’ve got for you
I hope you find some peace and comfort  in the coming months and that you have many more of them.
I’ll pop back now and then to see if you’re up for a chat here or via pm

    Huge hugs. Xxx
