Hi all, today I ended up spitting my dummy out.. I think it's trying to adjust to my 'new' life.. every little thing has just been getting me down.. just one of those days I guess..

Sorry to whinge, but I guess you all know where I'm coming from..

  • You’re allowed to so don’t feel guilty and do it. The enormity of what’s to come takes a while to sink in. I used to dream it was a dream and waking up to the reality broke my heart. Once things get going it’s easier and you do it a day at a time. I did it at 67 and I’m five years in January. So will you.
This is the place to spit your dummy out in the meantime

    Hugs

  • Please do not apologise. You are not whinging at all, We all know exactly what you are going through and therefore you have come to the right place to express how you feel. When you go through a bad day, it can be such a lonely place. Make sure that you rest plenty, talk about how you feel and do something that you enjoy even if the only thing you can do is watch your favourite series, During and after my treatment I became a real sofa surfer ! Are you getting counselling ? I found that the sessions I had helped me processed it all.

We know how tough things can get but tomorrow is another day and will be bring sunshine.again.

Sending you loads of positive vibes.

  • I think because it's been such a frantic time, and now things have slowed down a little, I have time to dwell on the reality of it all..

The reality is that the treatment is rubbish but cure rate is in excess of 95%
    Keep telling yourself that.

  • We’ve all been there! Just feel what you feel & don’t worry about it. The whole process is a rollercoaster of emotions. I kept a journal from diagnosis until end of treatment & into recovery, it was a safe space in which to vent. I also contacted Macmillan when I was recovering from treatment & had counselling.

  • Hi Beau

Unfortunately bad days go with the territory....my poor wife got the brunt of it....Some of the meds and associated side effects have much to do with low mood...lack of decent sleep does not help,  I was reluctant to ask for help but eventually relented and was prescribed a short course of sleeping pills which did indeed help.
