Third week of treatment

Hi, Just finished third week of radiotherapy with one round Cisplatin first week.Next round on Wednesday.Haven't been able to eat since end of second week but can manage to drink a pint of full fat milk each day and with the fortisips haven't lost any weight so far.Managing a forty minute walk each day with the dogs and a wee tidy up in garden.Then need an hours sleep in armchair.Mouth painful so Difflam probably 5 times aday.No taste and saliva awful.I dream of a roast chicken dinner !! Ploughing on.Just taking co-codamal four times aday although I know things will get worse.Is anyone else at this stage in treatment too ? All the best, Turi

Hi Turi great to hear from you just keep doing what you’re doing a bit if exercise each day works wonders. Don’t forget laxiodo if you’re on cocodomol.

Thanks Dani,

It's a long road.......with a chicken dinner at the end ! I never realised what a filthy temper I have until now.I've turned into a cursing monster. Seems to help letting it all out.

Thanks Debbie.I know I have a very long way to go but it's half way through the first bit.Just trying to put markers in along the way.

Make sure they are spot on.
I counted off the days of RT but Christmas and new year intervened and I got confused. Went in on a Wednesday to have my final RT to be told I had one more. Good grief! I can’t describe how I felt! You can imagine.

Dani,

Yes I can imagine.How long was it after the radiotherapy that the ulceration in mouth and throat started to ease a little?

Tried a poached egg today (with my sister staring on) just couldn't get it down at all.I'm quite sure she thinks I'm exaggerating.I can't even take ice cream which is like swallowing cold cement.
