Can anyone tell me how long it took them to stop feeling tired after Radio? My husband has just finished treatment and has been absolutely exhausted the whole way through, and I just wondered how long on average it takes in peoples experience for the tiredness to diminish?
Thanks in advance.
For me the tiredness was worst for 2-3 weeks after finishing treatment, then improved quite quickly. I went out for a very short slow walk around the block holding my partner's arm every day - it felt good to get up and out, even though I had to rest after. Within 6 weeks I could do days out with a fair bit of walking, and in less than 4 months I climbed a (small) mountain in Scotland (needed a nap after!) and soon got back to regular hiking and swimming. I hope that helps! Good luck to you both with your husband's recovery.

Thanks Catriona, appreciate your reply. Did you do the short walks after the tiredness began to fade or as soon as treatment ended?
Hi- I found the last 2 sessions hit me and I was basiccaly on my back for 2 weeks but was OK to return to work after that, must admit even now tend to get tired quickly but that may be combination of work and age-Ha Ha
Hope he gets over it quickly
Take care both

I was pretty out of it for two weeks then gradually pulled out of it. At six months I was more or less my old self. Beware of the odd bout of sheer exhaustion that can poleaxe you out of nowhere. That went on for a year. It’s a really tough treatment and recovery is slow. We are all different. My oncologist told me the cancer would take a year out of my life and he was right.
