Hi all been a while since was on here - brief update....
Husband diagnosed with inoperable cancer around voice box last Sept. Completed radio/chemotherapy 28th Dec 2022. Has lymphedema around neck following the treatment which has resulted in him being unable to breath properly. Had tracheostomy put in 4 weeks ago and they have now found that although the cancer has gone from voice box it is in his feeding tube (inoperable). Life changing now that he is unable to eat or drink normally again and is completely reliant on feeding peg in his stomach. He is now awaiting results to see if he is compatible for immunotherapy which they have said won't cure but may control - results seem to be taking ages. Recovery from tracheostomy very slow process also.
Anyone have any tips on how we try to adapt to all of this and what may be next if he can have the immunotherapy. He liked nothing more than being able to go on holiday and have a cold pint by the pool. Now becoming depressed and I am unsure what to do to help.
Thanks.
