Hi everyone, hope you are all doing OK x

Well we went for the follow up app today after hubby had his op 3 weeks ago.

The news wasn't great!!

He had 35 lymph nodes taken out and some contained squamous cell cancer and had started to spread out. Also they couldn't reach all of the cancer in his tongue, so we are now facing the 6 weeks of daily radiotherapy and twice weekly chemo.

We have both come home feeling drained from all the information, the team were wonderful, but we do feel overwhelmed at the thought of the next few months treatment.

I'm sure I will he here picking your brains for support and helpful ideas.

Hi Paula, I'm sorry that you have not had the news you wanted today. Try not to be down so much, you will both feel a lot better about things, once his treatment starts. The RT and chemo do have great results in curing our types of cancer. You are more than welcome to pick our brains; we are all here to help and give support. Any questions just ask away. Hi Paula. Sorry the news you’ve got wasn’t what you expected. Just try ti remain positive chemo radiotherapy is the gold standard treatment for our type of cancer. You will be overwhelmed we all were the same.
Once treatment starts everything falls into place. Best advise keep off dr google stay on here. Take everything one day at a time. Remember we don’t get all the side efffcts we are told about. We’re all always happy to help. . It’s daunting to start with.
