Hi, I’m about 21 months out of 30 radio/2 chemo for base of tongue early stage. My swallow function seemed to be back to normal but there has been a sudden regression that jeopardises the swallow. Also, my voice is raspy all of a sudden and I cannot raise my voice. Saliva glands gone on one side of mouth - as for so many of us. Wondered if it might be the heat rather than a bigger setback.
Does anyone have any experience of this or know if swallow function setback can suddenly happen?
good people.
Swallow function can get a bit awkward from time to time, spasm, we took a lot of punishment during chemoradiotherapy, the voice can also be a bit strained if we talk too much or our mouths suffer undue dryness, usually short term setbacks. Over 2 years since CRT finished and I still have the odd episode of both, oncology are not worried about it.
