I waiting for MRI scan as pain in my neck and shoulders is really bad - why ?
Do you have more PET scan , can I ask for one , how I know that this b@ster did not spread .
Sorry guys - writing here ...
You always give me good support .x
Hi Barbara.
Take a breath and don’t panic.
Fibrosis after radiotherapy is really common and lots of us report pain in our neck and shoulders. A lot if shoulder pain is stress too.
Your having an MRI which should put your mind at rest.
I had only one PET at 16 weeks. They are not routine so I doubt your clinician would authorise one.
When is your MRI?

Hi Barbara. Take a deep breath. Fibrosis is quite common after our treatment. I have a small amount at the back of my neck. I don’t let it stop me living. Try ti trust your team constantly having pet ct scans aren’t necessary. Go ti your ent appointments as you shoujld do but please get on with living. You like me and many others have been given a 2 nd chance don’t waste time worrying g about the what ifs. Think about what you can do to enjoy life. I’m lucky I never gave dwelled on the what ifs. My oncologist said he would cure me he did and I’ve just cyciedc45 km in the sun today living my life.

Hi Barbara
Such wise words from Hazel.
Don’t waste your life worrying about what might be as none of us know that. You are in good hands and getting regular checkups so trust your medical team and try and put aside the needless worry that is haunting you. As Hazel says life is for living and you have been given a second chance as we all have. Get up each day and appreciate it, make some plans, they don’t have to be big ones. Distract yourself with things you enjoy doing, appreciate the present and put thoughts of the future away. As soon as thoughts of more cancer come into your head immediately put them aside and get busy.
You will adjust to the changes in your life given some time and will live a fulfilled although slightly altered one.
It is now 10 years since my first cancer diagnosis and I’m glad once I adjusted to my changed circumstances I have had so many opportunities to enjoy my life. Life is a gift.
You will get there.
Sending you hugs.
