Today was Chemotherapy day. It took such a long time to get settled, and the person next to me would not shut up. YAK YAK YAK.Awful.

My daily journal helps. Pictures are  better because writing is a lengthy progress, and a quick sketch, because I am learning to draw, explains more with a keyword or two.

I also follow Stoic Philosophy. In short I accept that I can only control my reaction to an event, and not the event itself. For example, it has barely stopped raining since treatment started, so little outside time, answer, lift weights indoors, not rant at weather. Google Marcus Aurelius, Seneca, and Epictetus for more information. It's not for everyone but it works for me.

You may find keywords in my journal. I avoid the battle language of cancer, but courage, wisdom, temperance, and justice are evident.

In short, journaling at the beginning or end of the day is  useful, reflective and theraputic excersise. There are no rules. Just what works for you.
