Well I finally got my diagnosis yesterday after a meeting with my ENT Consultant , my Oncologist and Cancer Nurse. So I’m T0 N2 M0 . No cancer could be found apart from the secondary in Lymph nodes either side of my neck so it’s no further Surgery and straight to Chemo Radiation. I’ll be having the 30 sessions of radio and 6 sessions of chemo over the 6 weeks hopefully starting early March .
It was a good feeling when the oncologist wrote ‘aim to cure ‘ on my paperwork I can tell you.
Got to take the positives out of the situation I guess.
regards all

Hi all , my 1st week of radiotherapy and my Chemotherapy completed , was ok Chemo was 3-4 hours long involving Cisplatin sat in comfortable chair on drip for most of it ,then off for daily radiotherapy so a bit of a tiring day. Had nausea medication given to me which so far helps , but after few day now seem to be getting Constipation which never really had much problems before ? Obviously due to medications? Any advice be grateful thanks Ken
Ask your RT team to give you Movicol or Laxido. Take two a day. This is not medical advice but the voice of experience. When you get onto Opioids you are in even more peril of constipation. Two a day will keep you regular, they don't taste too bad (though that won't matter later) and they are gentle...

Hi Ken yes as Dsni says laxido or movicol will do the trick. They are gentle stool softeners. If you get impacted poo you can take up to 6. There a few in here that enddd up in that position. Also as treatment progresses and stronger pain relief becomes needed you’ll need the laxido.
well done on week1

Hi Gaz
yes the CT is the one they use to plan your treatment.
I was lucky I got my mask made and the planning CT as soon as it was hard.
Good luck for March.

Hi Gaz
Good luck for tomorrow when you have your mask made. At the fitting and scanning stage do make sure it is comfortable as they should be able to make minor adjustments. Some people ask to have the eyes cut out. I didn't, but I'd already had little areas of mask cut out to make breathing easier around areas where I'd had surgery.
