Hi guys it dad's birthday today, his 49th, we're celebrating as best as we can in lockdown, I hope everyone is coping okay? Thankyou for the support this group has shown me ( I know I keep saying thankyou) I thought I'd update, he's still got his PEG in but apart from that he's pretty much back to normal and his scan to see how the cancer had reacted to the treatment is on the 17th! I'm nervous to say the least but I'm not going to worry about something I can't control right now, fingers crossed we're all good and clear.
Hey Acornette thanks for the update and happy birthday to your dad (I had my 60th in mid-April so I know a lockdown birthday sucks). Will keep everything crossed for you on the 17th and the following days while you wait for the result, sure all will be well though.
Have a slice of cake for me.
Metastatic SCC diagnosed 8th October 2013. Modified radical neck dissection November, thirty-five radiotherapy fractions with 2xCisplatin chemo Jan/Feb 2014. Recurrence on larynx diagnosed July 2020 so salvage laryngectomy in September 2020.
Happy, happy birthday to your dad! And wishing all the best for the scan results.

Good evening Acornette, how lovely to get such an encouraging update, I was 48 when I had cancer in 2008 so it's so pleasing that your dad is doing so well and using his PEG. We all tend to worry with scans whether you are the patient, partner or carer so good luck for the 17th. Wishing your dad a very happy birthday with many more to come. Best wishes, take care.
