Hi everyone, my husband is starting 6weeks radiotherapy with chemotherapy once a week for 5 weeks on 10th March . As I said earlier I have been struggling badly with his tonsil cancer diagnosis. But abit of a bonus today, had results come through by post for his pet scan. There is no spread of the cancer, localised to tonsil and lymph nodes. What may seem like nothing to some is great for us, a weight has been lifted slightly and now we can focus on the fight ahead. Stay strong everyone.

Oh...it's everything to most of us. So pleased for you. Thankfully distant spread of this cancer is rare. It tends to stop at the lymph nodes

If you have time could you pop a brief history into your profile. TNM stage would be useful too (mine T2N0M0)

It helps us give a pertinent answer much more easily.

    Hugs

I had been misdiagnosed for nearly two years...waiting for scan results was a worry....no spread confirmation was a big relief...keep the forum updated with hubby's progress.

  • That's good news, I remember how pleased I was to get the same result. Good luck to your husband with his treatment, he will feel better about things when it gets underway.

    Ray.

  • Ok I’ll have a look

  • Have you had your treatment.

  • How did you manage your treatment.

    Yes....Chemoradio....30 radio + 4 chemo....finished in June 2023

  • I'm over 7 years post treatment now. I think the main thing is to take it one day at a time and keep the team up to date on how you are, they will prescribe meds for any side effects. It's not easy but it's doable, and the treatment does give very high cure rates, the members of this forum are living proof of that. We're all here to help, any questions just ask.
