I joined this group some years ago but for some reason my login details were lost. I've been in remission since 2009 but still unable to build muscle in my neck so sometimes it makes walking to keep my fitness levels up difficult. I've tried countless times to get a brace on prescription. I'm in the Harrigayy region of London. Does anyone know of one that nobody is using or a charitable institution that may provide one. I'm a UK State Pensioner if that's pertinent.
I'm sorry I can't help but I thought I'd reply to say that at least I've seen your post. The reply will bring it to the top of the page and somebody else might see it
I can't believe you are being ignored. It's awful.
Can you keep badgering your GP weekly till they give in?

Hi Community name
Just wanted to say hello and agree with Dani ,I think you should maybe try and see a different Dr who may be more supportive possibly asking for one apt /talk with a physiotherapist to see if they had any ideas/excercises or aids such as foam collar or a plastic neck brace.. if not try AGE UK your local branch has sadly closed( or so it says on the internet) but Harringey residents can call any of these branches

Seeing a different doctor would be a trick in itself, actually seeing a doctor face to face is a minor triumph. The last one said I'd need a referral to a specialist...I won't hold my breath.l'll keep searching online for an unwanted brace, but thank you for the links.
I know sadly its not an easy task these days. There are a variety of collars and neck braces available online /Amazon but it would be better to know medically which would suit your needs best.
Our local Age concern have been very helpful in finding aids and resources for a neighbour maybe worth a phone call
All the best
Debbie
Thank you for the bump to the top. I'm aware that doctors are different in each neighborhood. Unfortunately referrals to specialist are like good dust post COVID. And unfortunately every week the problem gets just a bit harder to deal with.
