I am a married man 66 years in age waiting for the next stage which is magnets to be inserted for my new nose.
Hi AJo
When will you get the magnets? I don't know anything about the procedure or what's been your experience so far, so can only imagine. It sounds like you must have been through some tough times? I hope you have enough support to help you through.
Sending some strength and well wishes to you.

Base of tongue cancer. T2N0M0 6 weeks Radiotherapy finished January 2019
Hi AJo - I’m in the same position. Had nose and one eye removed in March. I have now finished 6 weeks of RT with 2 chemo sessions. My prosthetic team have given me a temporary nose and I hope my final prosthesis will be done in a few weeks. The plan is to mount it on glasses and then have the magnets procedure in Nov / Dec. Good to come across someone in similar position! Matt
Hi Matt good to hear from you. How are you coping ?

Hi Matt I’m good thank you . Dry mouth is the long standing side effect it does get easier just takes time. Carry water and if your mouth can cope sugar free gum helps to stimulate the saliva glands. St night I still use xyimelts they help immensely. You get those online. Bioxtra mouthwash on prescription is mild snd gentle
good luck with rest if treatment keep in touch.

Hi Merrygoround
so sorry it's been so long. I thought I'd got the dreaded covvid the next day as sneezing with no nose is quite an experience, as it turned out I had a form of hay fever. Never had that before seemed to be in a mess for ages.I had my nose removed in January as quite a rare cancer was found may I say by Salford hospital. Previously treated by my doctor for an ulcer I was tested by a lot of hospitals until Salford found the cancer which I am very grateful as this cancer went straight for the nerves and was very painful. When removed by Manchester royal hospital I couldn't believe that afterwards all pain just vanished.I do get a bit of healing pain plus I've had six weeks of radio therapy so I'm in the cooling down period at present waiting for the all clear from Christies before I go to reconstruction of my nose area before insertion of the magnets to hold the prosthetic nose on. So thanks to all for your interests and messages. how I think I got this cancer is another bizarre story as well AJo
