I have been diagnosed with throat/neck cancer. I have been told it's treatable. I'm waiting for an MRI a meeting with my specialist and then hopefully treatment. At the moment I am so scared. I suffer with anxiety anyway and have been on medication for several years. I just want to sleep. I drink to cope which is not great but I don't know how else to cope. I can't sleep (even though that's all I want), I can't eat. I feel sick and scared. I called the local mental health line but the person I spoke to sounded more in need of help than me. I just want to talk to people who may understand how I feel; who've either been through what I'm going through or are having a similar experience. I know I should be thankful to be told the things I've been told but I can't rationalise and always think the worst.
Can’t find my earphones. My phone’s an apple so naturally doesn’t have a headphone socket. Got my suspicions my son’s robbed them. Got some Bluetooth ones but I can’t find those either. Got the kindle app on my phone so plenty to read. Long day and tough to relax. Didn’t sleep last night but hopefully will feel happier after today. Don’t think I could do this without the support from you all. Think I might order some earphones from Amazon. Nothing else to do.

If you’re going g to order Bluetooth for your iPhone just look at the reviews. A lot if them are crap. I have ordinary ear phones for mine. They plug into the phone charging socket. You can get some nice ones that are a real snug fit into your ear.

I’ll probably get ones that plug into the lightning port; less chance of losing them. Don’t want to spend too much, I have some over ear Bluetooth ones for music. No idea where they are. Just before all this happened we changed a few rooms round and the small bedroom became the “temporary” dumping ground. They’re in there somewhere. I think.
RichyDee
I know how you feel, when I was in hospital last year my family did a total "changing rooms" makeover of my house, still finding things I'd forgotten I had!
Metastatic SCC diagnosed 8th October 2013. Modified radical neck dissection November, thirty-five radiotherapy fractions with 2xCisplatin chemo Jan/Feb 2014. Recurrence on larynx diagnosed July 2020 so salvage laryngectomy in September 2020.
Just before all this happened we changed a few rooms round and the small bedroom became the “temporary” dumping ground.
While you’re changing rooms around have a think if you might want to relocate into the spare room. I moved into ours in my fourth week. That way I could cough and splutter without waking Stan. I wouldn’t disturb him reaching for the morphine, going for a pee in the night or turning the light on to read if I couldn’t sleep.

Yes Dani good tip think I moved into spare within a week if treatment starting. I was up several times in night wasn’t fair to John. Plus I couldn’t stand anything disturbing me.
