Hello All
Well yesterday marks 2 weeks since the end of treatment for tonsil cancer which comprised of 5 chemo and 30 radiotherapy sessions and I can only say that for those in the midst of treatment and who are struggling that things certainly get better with time. Still a long way to go but a day at a time and hopefully get back to somewhere near.
Thinking of all who are in a similar position and wishing you all well with your treatment.

Hi Southcoast and a very warm welcome to the forum. So pleased you sound quite in charge of everything and that treatment has finished.
Like you say, a day at a time and small steps get you there. Some days are pants and you feel like you’re going backwards but by 6 weeks most of us emerge from the fog and by 12 we turn a real corner.
Thanks for posting a nice encouraging message.
Best wishes
Dani

Hi Southcoast65 and welcome to the forum.
Thankyou so much for your encouraging post - I'm sure it will help a lot of people just embarking on their treatment.
Taking each day at a time is a good approach. Some days will be good, others not so good, but eventually the good days will outnumber the not so good ones.
All the best with your continued recovery.

Thanks so much Southcoast65 I am right at the start, have had scans last week and am seeing the consultant on Weds. Have 4 large lumps in neck which they think started in my tonsil. It's really reassuring to hear from people that have got through this - I am OK (ish!!) with having the cancer but the thought of treatment is making me feel sick!
Hi juliesss and welcome.
Just wanted to reassure you that yes, the thought of the treatment is scary but it is doable as so many of us are testament to. Lots of support and advice available on the forum if you need it.
Good luck for Wednesday.

I can honestly say all of the team who will be involved in your treatment will be absolutely amazing and will help you all the way through. Plenty of help and advice also available through Mcmillan.
Hopefully your fears will be eased and the treatment goes well. I did find talking to total strangers helped and was easier than talking to family.
Best of LUCK. X
