My husband was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in hard pállate that traveled to his lymph nodes had surgery about a month ago to remove tumor and lymph nodes. He will be starting radiation and chemotherapy in 2 weeks. I’m a little nervous as I don’t have anyone that I know or heard of go through cancer before so I’m learning as we go through it but I’m glad I found this site.
Hi Butterfly lily welcome to you snd your hubby to the club no one really wants to join . We are a small knit community who try to help each other through diagnosis treatment and recovery. I am 31month post radiotherapy for tonsil cancer with several affected lymph nodes. Treatment is hard but doable. I am a self confessed wimp but I did it. Any questions just as one of us will always try to help.

Hi ButterflyLilly
I had a maxillectomy for cancer of the soft palate and removal of a lymph node in 2019 followed by 6 weeks of radiotherapy 5 days a week. I did not have chemotherapy.
I am now feeling well and managing most of the things I could do prior to my treatment. The radiotherapy is a tough experience but with the pain killers taken regularly is manageable.
Keep asking questions as they arise as everyone on this forum will have experienced many of the things that your husband will be going through.
I know your husband will find your support invaluable.
Best wishes.

Hello Butterflylilly I'll add my welcome to everybody else's. This site is a mine of information and full of folk who have lived through radiotherapy and survived to live a full life and live it well. No question is too daft so fire away when problems arise. Be sure, though that you will both get there. Best wishes

Hi ButterflyLilly
Welcome. I can't help with the part of the journey your husband is on as I've only had surgery over the past year or so. But I do echo what others have said about supporting the pair of you as you move through this and subsequent stages of your journey.
Hi welcome to the group... you're husbands diagnosis is very similar to mine... there is great advice on here... stay away from Google...the treatment is tough but the rewards can be excellent...I made it back to work full time before retiring at Xmas... hope it works out for you guys.. stay safe
