Has anyone here especially if older ,over 70,my dad is 79 ,decided not to have radiotherapy after having the initial operation.
Dad had partial of his parotid gland removed plus a neck dissection, path results showed cancer in 3 lymph nodes and the cancer wasn't primary...unsure where it's come from gets a pet scan in around nine days.
Thing is the cns nurses has spoken to my dad and outlined the radiotherapy and the side effects ect and now ,and I don't blame him,my dad is saying he doesn't think he'll go.ahead with it,not at his age...
I've said let's see the oncologist ,get the pet scan and think things through then.I guess dad doesn't want to feel anymore shit than he's felt and just wants to crack on with his life ....
Has anyone else not jumped straight into radiotherapy or thought sod it and watched and waited.
Thankyou
