Hi everyone
I'm new here, preparing to start my treatment in 2 weeks and I'm feeling overwhelmed with all the stuff I need to do.
Is anyone able to share an idea of their daily timetable ie toothbrushing, mouthwash, exercises, meds etc?
Thankyou x
Hi Kirstie and hello!
I'm not the poorly one, but my bloke is, and I'm his carer.
Right at the start, when he got diagnosed, the list of things to do seemed overwhelming and I thought, crikey, where do I start?
However, I bought pads and wrote everything down I was told to do. This simple exercise has proved invaluable to us as nothing gets forgotten on a daily basis. My fella isn't the best at remembering any more, so he knows to refer to the pad if I have to leave the house for shopping, etc. it's all there for him, meds, RIG flush, teeth, etc. then I cross them off with a highlighter pen. I know it seems fussy but there's too much to remember by thought alone for us and we're in an established routine now. I also ticked off every RT appointment on his schedule when waiting for him during his fractions.
Sorry for the long post but you might be able to pick out the pertinent bits. I use my phone diary too which prompts with a jingle for all appointments and phone calls I need to make for him, as he doesn't speak any more.
Good luck love.

Hi The first 10 days or so so went ok for me. I u too had a spreadsheet of what to do and when medication started that was adde then calories taken in and water added later My hubby took charge of that side.
. Teeth first thing is a morning duraphat don’t rinse leave it on 30 mins then mouthwas always before trying breakfast. Ipimused ti brush 30 mins after food and still do. Last thing at night brush with duraphat leave on overnight. If he can get a fluoride varnish from dentist prior to treatment will help but not vital.
blog below might helo

Hi Kirstii. There is a lot to remember but you do get into a routine. I did not do anything hi tech like spreadsheets or a phone diary. I just used pen and paper. There were so many meds to remember to take as things progressed and I could not remember when I had taken the last lot and when the next lot were due. Day by day I would write down when I had taken the meds and when the next lot were due and so on until the end of the day. Nothing fancy. I used to write down anything else I had to remember to do in the same way all in an exercise book. I used a paper calendar to remind myself of appts etc and still do. I'm old school and when I was in a lot of pain couldn't mess around with computers and spreadsheets even if I had the ability to use a spreadsheet and was in the right frame of mind to open one up and use it at that stage.
Sending best wishes for your treatment.
