Worried can doctor missed evidence of malignancy - mouth ulcers or cancer?

Hello! Its me again. Im still worried, cuz I have read many stories in which doctors brushed off patient's symptoms, called them benign...and it turned to be cancer, even in terminal stages.

I know, that they're mostly called ulcers benign. So they saw an ulcer or wound and told "it's from chaffing" or "it's a candidosis". My doctor haven't see any ulcer, erosion or lump/bump. He checked my tongue, gums and buccal mucosa. But he didn't check an area very low behind lower left wisdom tooth, cuz it needs to have a small mirror, a stuff used in dentistry (not in  otolaryngology). I have fear: what if there's HUGE invasive thing hiding behind my tooth?

Oh...

Hi. Your profile says you had an endoscopy. I‘m sure that something amiss would have been spotted.
If you’re still worried you could ask for an MRI

Yes, there was an endoscopy through my nose. It show my throat and base of tongue, all clear (Im glad so much). But now I worried about area in mouth itself, a gum or mouthfloor near wisdom tooth.

Will visit a dentist at the second step, and may be do an MRI + submandibular ultrasound.

Ask for a dental xray first. That may save you a lot of time and worry

  • Good evening amary96, Try not to overthink things, as I'm sure the doctors have not missed anything, but as Dani said, ask for an MRI scan, as it will give you peace of mind. We all worry when something does not feel right, so well done in getting it checked out in the first place. Take care.
