Hi I'm new here.... just waiting (2weeks now) for biopsy results on 2 tumours in my neck.... I wonder how people deal with anxiety during this time.... I feel I might faint if I get the call I'm waiting for... ive had a benign tumour and major surgery 15years ago and didn't expect this again...I know there's a possibility they could be cancer,my consultant said he wasn't 'overly concerned'   but I am.

  • Hi

Waiting is awful but we just have to keep busy. Concentrate on the fact that your consultant said he wasn’t overly concerned. Don’t go searching for answers on Google.
It shouldn’t be long till you get your results.

No point in overthinking the biopsy results....if consultant is not overly concerned that is a positive.... hold on to that.... waiting is torturous.... keep yourself busy with other things.

As already stated...stay away from Dr Google

  • I’m pretty well thank you

I just need to know so things can get going.

Hopefully nothing will come of it. If something does you’ll be well looked after by your doctors and by us here. Hugs.

  • Good to hear you're well x

    And thankyou

    • I made the mistake of looking on a letter to my gp before i had my biopsy and I spotted the words 'likely malignant' surely they can't say that before I had my biopsy

Ah…… I’m confused as to why your consultant said he wasn’t concerned.
Consultants see these things every day and often have a good idea even before biopsy but even so it’s still a guess.

  • Yes me too,,it's certainly upped my anxiety.........I wonder if they had the mdt meeting that other specialists think differently.....

  • I remember very well what a horrible anxious time this is. The only thing you can do is try to keep busy, do nice things and not think about it (easy to say, I know). Even if it does turn out to be something nasty, people on here are living proof that it's curable. I'm glad you've found this forum -  it was an invaluable source of info & support when I was going through diagnosis & treatment. Please let us know how you get on.

Sending you good luck & solidarity
