Hi Everyone
Is anyone using or have used the infrared Thor tissue repair machine and if so how are you getting on with it?
I'm using it after each treatment but it's very early days yet and will continue to do so but I'm curious to see others interaction with the machine and if they've found it's helping with mucositis.
I did wonder if this was a new thing as they said they were trialling it and were looking for volunteers. I read the leaflet on it and it seems they've done a lot of research. I'll keep on using it as it only takes about 10 minutes and involves very little effort. Can't hurt to try!
Yes and the lollipop thing goes on and under your tongue.
I used it every day during radiotherapyi honestly think it helped me a lot, but I didn’t put under my tongue, it was put on my face and neck after the radiotherapy, it was said it helped with the ulcers and soreness in my mouth, I found it very helpful but I think maybe it was a state of mind knowing something extra was offered to help me through the six weeks
It sounds promising. Research suggests it help stimulate the cells to remove antioxidants caused by a chemical reaction in your body from the radiotherapy. As well as helping with tissue repair to counteract ulcers. So I'm not so sure it was just a placebo effect. Thanks for telling me your experience, I'll definitely continue with it.
There are a couple of people here who have trialled it. Leicester, I think. I’ll look for it tomorrow but Paul Burns of Thor tells me he is really pleased with some of the results. I posted about it earlier. Like I say. I’ll find the thread tomorrow
Its called Photobiomodulation
