Well I finally got results through after waiting 3 weeks and cancelled appointments . It has been put at t3 16 positive . They cannot operate as the mass is on the base of my Tongue and has spread to lymph nodes . They said that from the ct scan done 5 weeks ago that the cancer can be cured  but have to wait on recent scans done this week to see any spread he said hopefully it has stayed the same . They will meet up to discuss on Wednesday the details of the scans and I have to wait to see the dentist and and get my mask made then radiotherapy starts withing 4 to 6 weeks and I will be getting  chemoradiation . My head is in bits , family look washed out and broken but I'm trying to be a little bit positive an keep it together , I've been assigned a dietitian and a Councillor as these past 3 weeks wait for biopsy has been hard on my waist line and head and I need to be fighting fit to fight .

  • Thanks for that..

I am so tired with not sleeping and the pain I am in, just getting a bit paranoid, obviously  I've got time on my hands which makes me paranoid...

I think it's because I just want it started whilst I feel okay in myself..

  • Good evening Alicent, the good thing is that you are now in the system and you will get the best treatment available and the time will soon pass as you will be busy with appointments etc, when I was told I had cancer I tried not to think about and kept myself busy. I would say that the majority of the time consultant and their team are very good at offering the best treatment available. I was like Dani and waited 8 weeks before I had my operation and mine was classed as an aggressive tumour. Hopefully, the time will go quickly for you, and the making and fitting of the mask and PEG go well. Wishing you all the best for your treatment, take care.

  • Have you spoken to your Dr about not sleeping and the pain, Alicentas? as they should be able to offer you some help and give you some relief.

  • Chris

They are going to discuss different pain relief as I have a rare kidney disease so I can at minute only have codeine as anything morphine base sends my BP dramatically  low...thankyou for your messages I appreciate them, its reassuring knowing g someone is out there...

  • Hi. There are drugs out there that aren’t opiates so I hope some cocktail of them will work. Lots of people get help from mild sleeping pills from their GP. It won’t be long before treatment starts and day be day you’ll do it. Hugs

  • Hi Draper I was t3 and that also put fear into me , asked oncologist what size and she said 38mm approx . You are in for a rough ride with the treatment but it’s all doable and the worse effects last for about 8 weeks from 2 weeks in to about 4 or 5 weeks after treatment . Just keep telling yourself it will be over soon. I am now 8 months post treatment , feeling strong back to work since June although that may of been too soon . Have check up every 2 months and so far all good . Haven’t given any thought to reoccurrence just glad to be here with my family . Not quite back to my old self but feeling more like the old me every week . It’s as hard on the family as it is for you , be strong . The treatment you will receive will make you think the nurses and doctors are saints . Good luck

  • Thankyou for the message Alanl , I'm taking everything on board , every bit of advice and help . Your all wonderful and very helpful
