Over the past few RT sessions the team have struggled with my pre therapy scan , having to repeat and adjust. Yesterday a total of 4 times. Today the hospital called me to say they are arranging a new mask fitting . The relayed message from my Doctor is everything is going great and the tumour has shrunk so much so fast they need a new mask
Anyone experienced this or heard of this happening?

Hi Elaine
I was prescribed Scandishakes which are really runny, especially if you add loads of milk! I also found thick soups etc far too gloopy to swallow, especially when pureed, so watered them all down with either cream, milk or water depending on the flavour.

Thank you Linda and also to all of you who wished me a Happy Birthday . I was trying to get on here yesterday but my internet broadband is down and now no engineer until Friday so I had to wait till I got to hospital today to use their wifi . Sadly being rural, my mobile network is also dire so I am little cut off in communications at home till the engineer attends.
Aly - I wish you all the best for your PEG/RIG fitting tomorrow - everything will be okay - don’t despair - all unknowns are scary but when you are on the other side, you realise it was not as bad as you feared .

Thanks linda, managed some butternut squash soup today. Its a real chore trying to find stuff to eat and very soul destroying. My mouth feels gloopy/snotty as it is and thick milky/creamy sweet things turn my stomach. I can feel the ng at times which doesn’t help as makes me nauseous. Sometimes i think is be better with it out and see, may gelp, but may increase my stress levels through the roof too not heard of scandishakes!
just wondered, overnight, did most if you just have top up of oramorph as and when?? As were only meant to have cocodamol 4 rly during day arent we? I found last couple of days my jaw really aches . Now the radiotherapy has finished, im expecting to improve soon but in a way the pain is worse and neck is so tight??
thanks
Elaine
