Over the past few RT sessions the team have struggled with my pre therapy scan , having to repeat and adjust. Yesterday a total of 4 times. Today the hospital called me to say they are arranging a new mask fitting . The relayed message from my Doctor is everything is going great and the tumour has shrunk so much so fast they need a new mask
Anyone experienced this or heard of this happening?
Jo

Hi Aly , Oddly my appt at the hospital was at 1pm. I went in after waiting at 2pm had procedure and was dismissed at 6:45 pm lol - no overnight bag for me , but then my fitting date was messed up so I literally was squeezed in and promptly shoved out , my original appt was 8am , early fittings being the normal procedure for PEGS but that day they had me for booked for chemo and that was priority to go ahead

Maybe you are early on in the list? I was in overnight for my diagnostic panendoscopy but a day patient for the biopsy after my post treatment PET

Wow, fortips to make ready brek , I’m impressed. I wish I could stomach them :( I’m barely managing anything, 1 weetabix, bit of muller rice that’s it all day, no appetite, made a lovely red pepper and lentil soup, too thick even blitzed right down. Im sure I’d feel better, mentally if I could manage more,
goid to hear your stories, thanks x
Hi Jo, I finished my course of RT on Friday and had to have a new mask made at the end of week 3 as I had lost some weight but also because the tumour was shrinking and they needed to be able to focus the beam better for the remainder of my treatment.
It is a good feeling to be told the tumour is shrinking and reacting well to the treatment isn’t it. Makes all the side effects your encountering seem worthwhile.
