Hi everyone, I'm due to have a biopsy on my anterior tonsillar pillar soon. I'm having a general anesthetic. I didn't really know where to ask this, I'm obviously hoping it's not cancer. Just wondered if anyone had a biopsy in this particular place. Don't want to bother the pre op nurses. Just a few questions like will I have to eat before I can go home. Is ibuprofen or paracetamol better? Just thinking if I'm not eating much paracetamol would be best. Happy to answer any questions about my symptoms if anyone is curious.
They tend to do scans if they suspect cancer. I had an MRI before a biopsy. And yes they tube you up the nose for throat biopsies because they have a good look around everywhere else. Don’t worry it’s a doddle. You’ll be asleep and you won’t feel a thing just a few seconds of euphoria as your premed goes in.
