Can anyone remember what soft drinks/juice the enjoyed following treatment when taste buds returned. I'm really looking forward to drinking something other than water sips. Carran
hi try soda water fir the bubbles or flat dry ginger or Diet Coke. Be careful with fruit juices sugar content try diluting to start with.
chamomile tea worth a try be careful with tea or coffee dehydrating especially with dry mouth
I started introducing other drinks around week 4 of recovery. Baby steps.

Hi Carran, i agree with Hazel with the ginger and coke, in fact, i dilute them because they are too sweet for me and taste just as good, i even changed from drinking lager to drinking real ales as they are less gassy. Good luck.

Sorry Carran, I'm not much help here. I'm still mainly drinking water months on but half always preferred more water than other drinks. I've had some fizzy drinks, but had to stir them to flatten them a bit to start. I have the odd herbal tea just for aifferent taste. I get on fine with hot chocolate (I didp pastries in to soften for a treat), well lukewarm chocolate . I have Altrajuice apple half and half with water. Its thicker than normal apple juice but has all the nutrition of an Ensure without the milk.
Please share anything that works, I crave flavour some days but can never think of something that appeals
Hi Carran
After my first radiotherapy in 2013 my taste altered but I found that iced tea in different flavours worked quite well as I didn’t like carbonated drinks as they made me feel too bloated.
At that stage I also got on with a nice cup of tea but found coffee too bitter.
Hope you find something that works for you.

Yes all the diet fizzies are OK but not too much as they all contain carbonic acid which is not good for teeth. For months Diet Coke was the only thing that seemed to slake my thirst. The first taste that really came back was proper coffee....hence the title of the blog
