Had my final check up yesterday and was signed off and discharged. Diagnosed March 2016, BOT SCC, 30 Rt sessions. The first year was pretty tough mentally & physically, Apart from a dry mouth at nights, I'm back to full fitness. Thanks to all the members on here that helped me through it.
Hi Rusty. Great news Hope you enjoyed snipping that umbilical.
Dani
Base of tongue cancer. T2N0M0 6 weeks Radiotherapy finished January 2019
Brilliant news, very happy for you Rusty. Onwards and upwards!
Just a slightly cautious note from my own experience, go back and see them straight away if you feel anything strange happening; it's highly unlikey, I just drew the short straw, but be aware.
Metastatic SCC diagnosed 8th October 2013. Modified radical neck dissection November, thirty-five radiotherapy fractions with 2xCisplatin chemo Jan/Feb 2014. Recurrence on larynx diagnosed July 2020 so salvage laryngectomy in September 2020.
Yes something my oncologist said too though I am a little way off that yet. He said although I’m not on his clinic list after five years I remain his patient and if I’m unhappy about something to bypass my GP and phone his secretary for an appointment.

I got straight onto hospital team and was seen within days Dani, and that was during covid. Was made crystal clear to me when discharged that I could go back any time.
