My husband is currently going through diagnosis, but Consultant told us from visual inspection he was 95% sure it was tongue cancer. We’ve now got an appointment with the dental team too. I realise that this means they want to check teeth before treatment. My question is, do you know if they will do any treatment / extractions there and then? My worry is that surgery and /or radiotherapy will be delayed whilst waiting for dentistry.
Thanks.
The radiotherapy targets lymph nodes on the affected side anyway and the other side gets a smaller dose usually. So try not to worry about nodal spread.
