tender armpit post surgery for tonsil cancer

HI

I had surgery for cancerous tonsil that was removed and also lymph nodes in October

No radioherpay was needed at that stage

Now getting tenderness in arm pit on the side of the surgery - also quite smelly sweating from the armpit

is this a common symptom? anyone else expereience this post surgery?

  • Hello Krammed, sorry to hear this , i have not had tonsil cancer so i dont know the side effects ,but there are some lovely ladies who know a lot more than me about this area and will only be to willing to offer there advice and experience with it.   • Sounds like an infection. Get GP to look at it to put your mind at rest. 
    Armpit  is not on the same drainage as neck nodes so likely nothing to do with your tonsil.

    I've had that surgery and not had the issue you described.  Tenderness in the shoulder and chest are recognised side effects .  As others have said get it checked by the GP
