Hi

Did anyone use Carbocisteine for mucus, if so how did you find it.  I am struggling with mucas which is making it difficult to talk etc.  I am in week 7 finished treatment Tuesday.

Thanks in advance.

  • I didn’t sorry Sue but  has. I’m not sure it helps. What does is frequent nebulising and maybe a humidifier by the bed at night AND drinking lots, 3 litres a day. But sorry I’m sure you know all that. I just spat a lot into rolls of kitchen towel. It had reduced to manageable levels by week three. Hope you get on top of it

  • Hi Sue

I did  have carbusistine prescribed did it work well to be honest I would say the humidifier and nebuliser worked just as well. I was also drinking at least 3 litres of water I still do 2 litres even now.  Just keep on spitting it out not ladylike. It does go  as quickly as it came although often replaced with dry mouth just letting you know so you are aware .mine had gone by week 9–10

    hope this helps
