.... does anyone know whether my facial hair is likely to recover eventually or has it gone for good? I currently have half a beard, with the half where I was zapped by RT as smooth as the proverbial baby’s bottom.
I’m not overly concerned, but am curious.
Hi can’t answer for facial but my hair grew back at the back of head lost a band from ear to ear. Grew back just fine x

Thanks both. It maybe affects head hair differently to facial hair then. Interesting.
Hi, Mark, when I started my treatment, I had a nice full gray goatee, by the time I finished it was little more than a very thin wispy version of it's former self. However over time it did start to grow back slowly, and to my surprise it was alot darker, in colour. The rest of the hair on my face grows very slowly, I used to have to shave every day, now just over three years on, it's about every week. Which in one way isn't too bad. All the best.
Regards Ray.
Hi Mark.....
I followed a chap's blog till he signed off at 5 years and his half beard never grew back. I think it must be to do with intensity of treatment. Judging by the burns folk get at the front (but not at the back where the hair does grow back....and mine did like Hazel's) you get much more radiation at the front.

The way I was told it the hair you lose at the back of your neck is down to the chemo (cisplatin) so that would grow back. The front or anywhere in line of the rads wouldn’t grow back
I didn’t have chemo and lost quite a fair chunk from the nape
