Well today's appointment was cancelled yesterday at Marsden hospital, now going next week.
I am taking oramorph every 4 hours and tabs at.night and breakfast.
I am waking up in so much pain, neck constantly swollen where cancer is ,head and mouth so sore,is everyone else suffering too like this.
Still waiting for the swollowing x-ray and see if consultant prepared to let me have the op as got a chronic lung conditon,I just want to eat properly too and have some pain relief.
Oh Mummy, that all sounds really tough. Do you have anyone looking after you? Could your GP maybe help with pain control? I’m pretty new here so don’t have much practical advice but you are not alone, we are all rooting for you. I really hope things improve for you soon xx
My husband had that happen - it was because they needed to correctly identify the type of cancer so that they could work out the correct treatment. If it’s any consolation, he was on 20 painkillers and oramorph but stopped them the day after his first treatment as the pain had gone.
if the pain is too much, I would contact your nurse specialist for advice.
hope you get sorted xx.
Hi Mummy13, sorry you are being kept waiting it certainly seems a long time since you first posted, you should not be suffering from the pain so as the other ladies have said try and get your painkillers increased, hopefully, you can get some answers next week, all the best , take care.

My husband was diagnosed with mouth cancer in March, had radiotherapy which ended in June, but the last couple of months is waking up swollen, struggling to swallow, choaking, constant headaches and pain relief isn't helping. If you find a solution, please can you post on here? He also has asthma. I can visualise what your talking about and hope you get some support or answers, he has just been for another Mri scan. Hope things get sorted xx
Hi sorry to hear about your husband is having these problems, im sure the scan will give the consultant a clearer picture of what is happening. Good luck with the scan results ,take care.
