Hello, I have recently had surgery for removal of a tumour (Olfactory Neuroblastoma). My next phase may be 6 weeks of radiation treatment.

Just wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect with radiation & if anyone has experienced long term side effect?

Thanks

  • Hi YC Tan

Side effects from radiotherapy occur for all of us but do improve over time although do not always completely go away. I had radiotherapy aimed at the jaw but my side effects were the same as those who had other types of head and neck cancers. Taste changes, dry mouth, fatigue are the most common ones and can be difficult and make eating a challenge. It is early days after finishing your radiotherapy so you are at the worst stage of the side effects. Hang in there as over time they do start to improve.
