Hi I'm dickworwel, I was diagnosed three and a half years ago with head and neck and recieved 37 doses of radio and weekly Chemo.
I am in not bad shape, but quality of life has really dropped. I am affected by Trismus compounded from a bad accident while on holiday.I have a 19mm opening and using a Therabite to hopefully help this issue,
currently I have been experiencing difficulty when I start chewing on a new meal. Initially, its almost as though the muscles below my jaw line in the Thorax region were seized up and I must really work hard to free them up to get them to allow my jaws to work, after 2 or 3 minutes they seem to start working easier..
This is a recent handicap, following on from the cramping experiences I was told to expect 4 months ago. I get these cramps/spasms up the sides of my neck area particularly after a yawn or such like. These cramps are extremely unpleasant.
I suppose I'm asking the community as to the commonality of these symptoms, there are others but not just so unpleasant as these .

I get the yawn cramps too. I recently posted asking people about it somewhere else and it seems quite a lot of people get it. I hurts like heck, and usually prompts me to shout out, but then gradually fades after a minute or so.
No idea what causes it.
June 14 surgery for Carcinoma in sublingual salivary gland. Partial glossectomy, left neck dissection, reconstruction with left radial forearm free. flap. Postoperative radiotherapy 6 weeks.
