Currently sitting in A&E as my PEG tube snapped this morning leaving part of the tube in my stomach ! Will need gastroscopy later today to retrieve what’s left of the tube.

I know I wanted the tube out as my eating has improved but it’s a bit of a drastic way for it to happen

    Hi Gareth

Thinking of you and hoping it's not too long a wait at the hospital.  Sounds like you've been very unlucky there.  I've heard of PEGs falling out before but not of bits of it being left behind.

Let us all know when you are back home again.  xx

  • Hope you can get this sorted quickly, and you get home soon.

    Regards Ray.

  • Endoscopy couldn’t locate the tube. Doctors suggest it’s nskibg a break for freedom by itself !

    home now & chilling

  • Hi Gareth , wow i have had a PEG tube since 2009 and nothing like this has happened, sounds as if you had a faulty one, as Margaret said they can come out especially the balloon type. Hope all is ok now, take care.
